ERN 1085

Description

The HEIDENHAIN ERN 1085 with permanent-magnet three-phase motors, an absolute position value is necessary for electrical commutation before the motor is started. On the one hand this can be determined using absolute rotary encoders, which output additional incremental signals. On the other hand, HEIDENHAIN produces incremental rotary encoders with an additional commutation track — the Z1-track — which sends one sine and one cosine signal with one signal period per motor-shaft revolution. In this way it is possible to determine the absolute rotor position of the motor before it is started. The ERN 1085 offers the following features…

  • 1Vpp incremental signals
  • 512 line count
  • Commutation signals: one sine and one cosine signal with 1 period per revolution (Z1-track)
  • 5V power supply
  • Cutoff frequency (-3db) = 100 kHz
